Hispano-Suiza factory near Paris
Interior section of Hispano-Suiza airplane factory at Bois Colombe, near Paris, requisitioned by Daimler-Benz during Nazi occupation to turn out engines and make repairs on the Luftwaffe's motors. Hit heavily by American Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses of the 8th AF on 3 and 15 Sept 43, and again on 31 Dec 43, this vital factory was so badly damaged that subsequent repairs had still not enabled it to recover more than a fraction of its former activity by the time American troops reached Paris.
