Here is another reason why the ground crew men of the 15th AAF located in "sunny Italy" are scanning weather forecasts daily for the time when the weather man will remark, "fair and warmer." Attempting to reach the runway to take off on another strategic bombing mission this Flying Fortress slipped from the metal taxi strip and was bogged down. Two hours of hard work by ground crew men finally released it from the hub deep mud.
