GLIDER PLANT BEFORE - Here is shown the glider assembly plant at Leipheim, Germany, west of Munich as it appeared to crew members of U.S. 8th AAF Liberators on April 24, 1944. Center for the assembly of large six-engined gliders, the Forts unleashed large concentrations on assembly buildings and repair hangars.
