Germans evacuating wounded at Sermide

The Germans are seen here evacuating their wounded across the Po River at Serride, northwest of Ferrara, Italy, as a Republic P-47 flown by a 12th A.F. Brazilian pilot goes over the site. Spying the convoy of seven ambulances, one trailer and one horse drawn cart, the airman did not attack, and no damage is seen. One small skiff is visible near the middle of the river headed north. It contains approximately three persons, and appears to be drawn or guided by the wire cable across the river. Note person standing on the road at the entrance to the ferry site, who appears to be waving a white flag to warn our flier that the convoy is composed of ambulances.
