German truck in flames
A German ammunition truck, parked in the shadow cast by the long white building (above) goes up in a swirling mass of flames (below), the result of.50 calibre incendiary bullets fired by 2nd Lt. William I. Wells, Union Valley Road, Cranbury, New Jersey, a 19th Tactical Air Command fighter-bomber pilot. Effective attacks, such as pictured here, have made the fighter-bomber the Allied weapon the Germans fear most.
