German tank behind lines

During an armed reconnaissance patrol behind the German lines, 1st Lt. William A. Simpkins, 1811 Girard, Washington, D.C., spotted this German tank lumbering along a road. A few quick bursts from his .50 calibre machine guns set the vehicle ablaze.
