German sign in France

FRANCE - Under the now-meaningless German sign which forbids the taking of photographs within the limits of the field is ironically nailed a pointer reading "Spearhead", hastily erected as the Allied drive smashed through France toward Germany. A U.S. army 9th Air Force Service Command photographer caught the picture as his unit moved up to occupy an important Nazi airdrome.
