Beneath the smoke and dust shown here lie the remains of buildings which once housed a German headquarters near Imola, Italy. Bombs from Republic P-47 Thunderbolts of the 12th A.F. hit this important target of the opening day of the current 8th Army offensive as planes of the 12th A.F. gave close support for the kickoff.
