German garrison at Aachen

This interesting camera study of members of the German garrison at Aachen, Germany, now prisoners of war, was photographed by a 9th AF Combat Cameraman after the capitulation of the city. The beaming countenance and the "V" sign displayed by the young German soldier in the center, intended to impress American troops as a disapproval of German political and military practices, didn't click with his captors.
