German Flying Bomb Plunging Toward Earth

The flaming wake of a German flying bomb as it plunged toward the earth. Setting up a time-exposure, seconds before the bomb started its power dive, the photographer ran to a near by shelter and arrived there as the weapon exploded in an adjacent clearing. The incident occurred over a Ninth Air Force base in England.
