German flak wagons in Ardennes
These two German "flak wagons" shuttled through the Ardennes as part of the greatest concentration of mobile anti-aircraft weapons of the war until 9th AF fighter-bombers silenced them during recent fighting in the Belgian Bulge. Surmounting heavy flak defenses, extremely unfavorable weather and a revived Luftwaffe, pilots of the 9th Tactical Air Commands pressed their assaults to play an important part in stopping von Rundstedt. A salvage squad examine the guns near Houffalize, Belgium.
