FW 190 on JU 88 over Belgium

FIGHTER-ON-BOMBER -- Five of these weird German contraptions were sighted flying over Belgium by fighters of Lt. Gen. James H. Doolittle's 8th AF. These planes consist of an FW 190 fighter mounted on top of a JU 88 bomber. Lt. Bernard H. Howes, Stoughton, Mass., claimed the destruction of two of the FW 190s and one of the JU 88s. The gun camera in Lt. Howes' plane made this picture of the strange planes just before he began shooting.
