FW 190 on 9th AF base

This German FW 190 crash landed on a 9th AF base of the 404th Fighter Group on the Continent during a raid on New Year's Day. Mechanics of the field fixed up the plane and painted it bright red and decorated it with American markings. The commanding officer of the outfit plans to test fly it with a Republic P-47 "escort".
