Fortresses hit railroad yards at Rimini
One day before the Allied landings at the Anzio point on the west coast of Italy South of Rome, Fortresses of the US 15th AAF hit the vital railroad yards at Rimini on the East coast, to cut the Hun's lines of communications with Northern Italy and the Balkans. The first part of a one-two punch hit Rimini on the night of 15 January, a Wellington raid.
