Flying Tigers over Liuchow

1944-11-07

Interdicted by the Flying Tigers since they evacuated on 7 November 1944, the former 14th AF advanced base at Liushow, vital railroad and highway junction in central Kwangsi and in the path of general Japanese withdrawals from the Lung Valley and Siang corridor that end the Jap dream of a Greater East Asia land line from Singapore to the Empire. No activities indicated in the Taipigg passenger rail terminal yards, left center, although approximately 60 damaged and probably unusable cars can be seen in the freight yards running from lower center to center right. The airdrome itself is in excellent condition although no aircraft are visible and it does not appear to be in operation.
