Flak barrage in German skies

FLAK BARRAGE: These were some of the formidable defenses that were poured into German skies to take its toll on the B-17 "Flying Fortresses" of the 452nd Bomb Group on 9 March 1944. The flak appears as innocent puffs of smoke, but each burst showers approximately 1400 jagged pieces of metal at any planes near it.
