Fighter strip in Normandy, France was being used for scheduled operations on 13 June 1944. Photo shows it going full blast, with invasion flotsam still littering the beach at right. More of the above, unannotated, may be found. There are approximately 1,000 foxholes in the picture. Hundreds of wounded were evacuated by air from this strip. JAN 15 1945
