Ex-prisoners working tin-can forge
Working a tin-can forge, two ex-prisoners demonstrate how minute quantities of fuel were burned at full efficiency in order to have occasional hot meals. Pfc. Paul F. Sincotta, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was captured during the Battle of the Bulge, turns a wooden hand wheel, which, in turn revolves a fan inside the center round tin, thereby creating a draft to fan the burning fuel in the bottom of the near can. Holding the spoon is S/Sgt. Joe Piazza, of Bunkie, La., who was a tail gunner on a 8th AF Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. Moosburg, Germany.
