EUROPE - This Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, hit by a 20 mm. cannon shell during a recent raid on enemy held territory, struggles home with a large hole and fire in its starboard wing. It is still suffering the weight of Luftwaffe attacks - smoke can be seen pouring from the tail-gunner's twin.50's as they chatter while an attacker approaches from the rear.
