English farmers at an airdrome location 'somewhere in England' bring
English farmers at an airdrome location 'somewhere in England' bring in a bumper crop of barley, after harvesting. This crop was grown on ground occupied by and surrounding an American Martin B-26 "Marauder" medium bomber base. In the background, mechanics are fueling two of the planes, the "Idaho" & the "Prue", readying the sleek and deadly aircraft for another mission. The farms dotting this airdrome area are privately owned and have been so for hundreds of years; the present occupants have been allowed to continue farming. The planes seen in the picture are parked on an individual dispersal concrete run-way, called a 'hardstand.' (Photo taken 24 Aug.
