Enemy Fortifications near St Lo on D-Day
Clearly shown here are enemy fortifications near St. Lo, France, on D-Day. This picture was made in the early morning hours by use of an electric flash bulb developed by engineers of Air Technical Service Command, Wright Field, Ohio, and the General Electric Company.. Intensity of light is dependent upon altitude. This picture was taken from an altitude of 500 feet. What appears to be arrows on roof tops is the gabled construction of Normandy type architecture.
