E-boat off Netherlands coast

AN EIGHTH AAF FIGHTER STATION, ENGLAND -- Enemy shipping takes a beating in the North Sea. Here is a graphic record of a strafing attack by an Allied airman on a German E-boat off the Netherlands coast. (1) The American 8th AF fighter pilot dives in spraying bullets which land just short of the mark. (2) The missiles kick up the water around the vessel. (3) The airman attacks from the stern of the enemy craft. (4) Attacking again from the side. The ship is already burning. These are still pictures from the gun camera of one of the attacking planes. The pilot in this action is Lt. Alfred Marshall of 27 Vine St., Melrose, Mass.
