Dummy factory near Pilsen
The Germans built a huge dummy factory three miles outside of Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, to deflect Allied bombers from the big Skoda Arms Works in Pilsen. The bombers were only fooled once. The Germans went to a lot of trouble to invite bombs on the dummy, they let fires to indicate previous bombs had been dropped, turned up the lights to indicate work going on inside the dummy, and even dug simulated bomb craters. But all to no avail.
