Demonstrating the use of an asbestos suit which permits a soldier to get right up to a fire is Pfc Joseph M. Theis of Bloomington, Ill. The suit is used to rescue pilots from crashed, burning airplanes and will protect a body for about four minutes. The nozzle he is holding sprays out a foam which smothers gasoline fires. 9 March 1943, England.
