D-7 Tractor At Bournemouth

Cpl. Albert L. Egeness fuels a D-7 tractor which hauls an eight yard carry-all. Egeness is a member of the 347th Engineer Unit which is making a temporary run-way at NR. Bournemouth, Hants, England so that a flying fortress which made a crash landing and was repaired on the spot by a Mobile Repair Unit, may take off. When the runway is completed the land must be regraded to the state in which it was originally. 6 May 1943.
