Riding a 500-pound demolition bomb to keep it steady on the end of a crane, is Cpl. Lloyd Shumway, Istrouma, La., Ordnance armament man at a USAAF North American P-51 Mustang fighter station in England. The bomb is one of two being slung under the wing of a Mustang for dive or skip bombing mission against the Wehrmacht's communications and transport facilities in enemy-occupied Europe.
