Church in Rimini

ITALY - In Rimini, after bombers, artillery, and battleships had pounded the city, few buildings were left untouched. Among those in which little damage was done was this massive church, miraculously spared among shattered buildings. Coming down the center aisle are two New Zealanders with arms full of candles--it was not loot. They left lire on the altar, took the candles to light their tents.
