China - A Devastating Strike At The Japanese-Held Kaifeng Railroad
CHINA -- A devastating strike at the Jap-held Kaifeng railroad yards in northeast China by Consolidated B-24's of the 308th Bombardment Group of Maj. Gen. Chennault's 14th AF in the Flying Tigers' assault on points vital to the Japs drive south of the Yellow River and west of the Pin Han Railroad. Four explosions are recorded by a camera in one of the raiding planes. Two may be of locomotives. Eighty five percent of the 250-lb bombs struck in the target area. Two hits may be seen on the locomotives repair shop to the left of the railroad at the bottom of the burst group. Many hits were scored in the storage yards to the right of the track, among 213 cars and eight locomotives.
