Captain Klausner At 8th Aaf Station

An EIGHTH AAF BOMBER COMMAND STATION, England--- Shown conducting services at an Eighth AAF Flying Fortress station is Captain Bertram S. Klausner of Newark, New Jersey and Tuscaloosa, Ala., Jewish Chaplain in the Eighth AAF Bomber Command. Attending the services are Flying Fortress crewmen, ground crew members, and administrative workers-the men who make possible the relentless bombing attacks on Nazi war targets. Chaplain Klausner is the son of Mrs. J. Klausner of 33 Burgin St., Hackensack, New Jersey. During four years prior to his entrance into the Army service in June, 1942, Chaplain Klausner was at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Because Chaplain Klausner must attend to the spiritual needs of many men at the many bomber bases, he cannot appear weekly at each station. In his absence, the services are conducted by a soldier at the base. DECORATIONS Chaplain personnel
