Capt Christensen over France

Capt. Fred J. Christensen, Jr., 11 Wilmot St., Watertown, Mass., a 22 year old Republic P-47 Thunderbolt pilot, has destroyed 22 German planes in the air. On a combat mission over France, Capt. Christensen knocked down 6 Jerries to become the first fighter pilot in the ETO to chalk up a half-dozen kills on a single mission. He has destroyed 2 German planes on 3 different missions. A veteran combat pilot, Capt. Christensen is nearing the 300-hour period of operational flying. A much decorated pilot, he holds the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Silver Star. He calls his plane "Rozzie Geth" after his girl friend back in the States. He attended Mass. Institute of Technology and Boston University before entering the Service. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. Christensen, reside at address listed above.
