Californians at Munda Airfield

S/Sgt. Howard D. Bell, Kingsburg, Calif., left, and Cpl. Alvah M. Stainback, Beverly Hills, Calif. pose in front of "Snafu", the first two-engined transport plane to land on Munda airfield. The two Californians are ground crew members of the 13th Air Force. The squadron was picked to fly Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt on her recent visit to the South Pacific, because of its outstanding safety record, and the First Lady was made an honorary member.
