Cables laid in Okinawa

Communication cables are laid between poles preparatory to splicing and raising. This work was done by men of the 443rd Signal Heavy Construction Battalion on Okinawa, Ryukyu Retto in July 1945. Servicing and rebuilding a former Jap line between Nago and a point opposite Ei Shima was one of the first jobs assigned the Battalion.
