C-47 Cargo plane blocks airport road

Sliding gracefully along a mud sodden runway this heavy British Douglas C-47 Cargo plane came to a stop straddling the airport road thus blocking traffic for a few hours. The heavy ship developed landing gear trouble on the takeoff, and later decided to go "picnicing" in the fig grove. No one was hurt but the GI Motorist feelings, who had to detour the road area.
