British paratroopers near Athens

GREECE - British paratroopers landing on an airfield near Athens. Note Greeks running to greet them. They were brought in by planes of the 51st Troop Carrier Wing, USAAF, veterans of every show in the Mediterranean Theater and the Burma fighting. After the 51st landed British paratroopers and glider-borne infantry they landed at an airfield in the Peloponessus where they picked up tons of supplies and brought them into the starving Athenians.
