Bridges like the adjacent railroad and highway spans at Nuttlar, Germany, near Bestwig, were targets Feb. 22, 1945 in the 9th Bombardment Division's 5000-plane aerial assault on western Germany's rail and communications lines. The two bridges pictured were hit by Martin B-26 Marauders a few minutes after the photo was taken.
