Bombing of Kastelli-Pediada airdrome on Crete

The accuracy of American Air Force bombardiers is tellingly illustrated in these photos taken during the bombing of Kastelli-Pediada airdrome on the Axis-held island of Crete, which was bombed Wednesday night. Carefully avoiding the civilian homes, the U.S. airmen are shown unerringly dropping bomb loads on the airport flight strips, roads and military objectives. A highly concentrated load of bombs drops on the axis-held airfield of Kastelli-Pediada, in the island of Crete, missing the residences of the city adjoining.
