Bombers attack Piombino harbor

Enemy ships lie wallowing in the river bed and the quay is a shambles after attack by bombers of the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces on the harbor and installations at Piombino, south of Leghorn on the Italian west coast. This close-up photograph was made after our ground forces captured Piombino.
