Bombed railroad bridge at Borgoforte
A narrow footpath is the only passageway of this once-busy railroad bridge at Borgoforte, south of Mantova, Italy, following repeated attacks by Republic P-47 Thunderbolts and North American B-25 Medium Bombers of the U.S. 12th AF These two close-ups, made by Brazilian pilots in latest attack, show clearly the damage that has been wrought on this span. Cutting the enemy's lines of communications is the assignment given the 12th A.F. in the war against Germans in Italy.
