BOMB BURSTS ARE SEEN BLANKETING THE SOUTH MARSHALLING YARDS STARTING FIRES AND CAUSING MANY EXPLOSIONS. BURSTS IN THE NORTH YARDS AND THE ADJACENT ASTRA ROMANA REFINERY (LOWER LEFT) HAVE CAUSED TREMENDOUS FIRES COM- PLETELY OBSCURING THE TARGET. THE PLOESTI YARDS NOW HANDLE APPROXIMATELY HALF OF THE TRAFFIC BETWEEN GERMANY AND ROUMANIA, BRINGING OIL AND OTHER PRODUCTS WEST AND SUPPLYING THE GERMAN/RUSSIAN SOUTH FRONT. 51298 RC.
