Boeing B-17 No. 42-5813 shown after crash landing on return July 30, 1943. Plane crashed about 2 miles from Field, while trying to make its own airdrome. Plane piloted by 2nd Lt. William C. Breiner. None of the crew injured either on mission or landing. Ship pretty well shot up--all motors were "out" due to running out of gas, when plane crashed.
