Boeing B-17 Flying ofrtresses lumber over North American P-51 Mustang

Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses lumber over North American P-51 Mustang base in England, past the nose of an 8th Fighter Command fighter plane which has just returned from escorting another formation of heavies blasting at the front line area in France. Not long after, the P-51's of this group were up in the air for another escort job at the conclusion of which they went down on the deck to do some strafing. This was just one part of the all-out aerial offensive put on by the AAF's fighter-bomber team.
