Berchtesgaden Hof in Bavarian Alps

BERCHTESGADEN, GERMANY -- Berchtesgaden Hof, a most elaborate vacation inn, is shown to the GI's by Lt. Louis H. Merz, of the Bronx, N.Y. acting as a guide through the Bavarian Alps to vacation-minded 101st Airborne Division's 327th Glider Infantry Regiment personnel. Lt. Merz decorations include: Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze arrowhead, the ETO ribbon with three battle stars and the American Defense ribbon. He is a veteran of Pearl Harbor, December 7th 1941.
