Battle of Bismarck Sea

Herewith are pictured incidents of the Battle of the Bismarck Sea, in which Allied bombers destroyed a 22 ship Japanese convoy, with an estimated loss to the enemy of 15,000 lives and 90,000 tons of shipping. 12 of the ships were troop transports and 10 cruisers and destroyers. An enemy merchant vessel is bombed from low altitude during the battle of Bismarck Sea. Spray from a damaging near miss can be seen on the far side amidship. The decks are loaded with supplies.
