B-29 Superfortresses at Futema

To handle the large Boeing B-29 "Superfortresses" a very firm strip was needed. Here a sheeps-foot roller of the 806th EAB is seen packing down the fill on #2 strip at Futema, which was 8500 feet long, and 200 feet wide, with a 12 inch coral surface.
