B-29 drops supplies at Weihsien

British, Dutch and American nationals cheer wildly as a Boeing B-29 from the 20th Air Force drops supplies to them in a field marked with an X just outside their prison compound at Weihssen, China. The former inmates have lined up on the edge of the field for the drop. Note shadow of B-29 in lower left hand corner of photo. August 27, 1945. It is believed that most, if not all, the Prisoners have been evacuated. (12 September 1945).
