B-26 Marauders over Mediterranean

AAF B-26 Marauders return to their 12th AAF base over the Mediterranean after a raid on German communication in Italy. The P-38 Lightning (twin fuselage) in the background expended its ammunition on enemy fighters and then for protection tucked itself under the formation of the "Big-tail Birds," oldest medium bomb group in the Mediterranean theater.
