B-26 Marauders over Magra River Valley

MARAUDERS OVER MAGRA RIVER VALLEY --- With a backdrop of rugged, on sharp-peaked mountains (the kind the Allies are fighting/in Italy), this formation of USAAF B-26 Marauders is on the way to bomb another vital Nazi communications target in northern Italy. This photograph was taken just before the bombers unloaded their bombs on railroad bridges at AULLA in the Magra River Valley. In the lower right corner of the picture is seen a large ceramics plant, while across the river is an enemy ammunition plant.
