B-26 Marauders over France

Martin B-26 Marauder medium bombers roar through the skies over France, as they head towards the 'target for today' -- enemy-held fighter airdrome near Lille. Above and around them, Spitfire fighters sweep and play, escorting the "Marauders" and keeping away Luftwaffe interceptors. The planes encountered no fighter opposition on this trip, but plenty of flak; several planes came back home bearing souvenirs of the continuous AA barrage flung at them until they had crossed the French coast on way back. All bombers returned safely.
