B-26 Marauders over Ciampino airdrome

Rome, Italy - The "carpets" which are laid neatly along the edges of Ciampino airdrome, North, are fragmentation bombs directed at Axis planes parked on the field by large formation of USAAF Martin B-26 Marauders today. There appears to be a large explosion in the area closest the hangars. Bomb craters from previous bombings may be seen in the center of the field. (Vertical)
