B-26 Marauder over Po Valley

Four thousand pounds of TNT plummet downward from the bomb bay of a 12th Air Force Martin B-26 Marauder to land smack on a vital Nazi railroad bridge in the Po Valley. In the background another flight of the twin-engined Marauders close their bomb bays. Far below them, barely visible in the photograph, their bombs funnel in toward the bridge. These Marauders twice cited for bombing Rome and Florence, are part of the Mediterranean's oldest bomb group. Italy. 319th BG
